DJ need advice on how to gain more customer?
Hi guys i just moved from being a club Dj to being a mobile DJ, i was a club DJ for about 7 years but not a good pay, i decided to get my own equipment and go mobile, i need advice on how to get more Gigs and which advertising media will be the best to use. Thanks

What sort of venues do you see yourself playing in? I’m from a small town/rural area, so around here the only places a mobile DJ is going to be working would be school dances, private parties, and the occasional fundraiser at a bar or fire hall.
Advertising around here would be done in the local papers and phone book. Flyers with rip-off tabs with a phone number in places where your target audience hangs out might be the way to go if you’re looking for bookings in a college town, as well as business cards in friendly support business.

word of mouth, because you are mobile you need to go on your reputation. you can start by leafleting your local streets and then buiild from there, once you start getting booked then you need to hand out oyur business card. also why not do a website, just one page will do where people can book you online?
1) Free ads on Craigslist are effective if well written
2) Your own website – inexpensive *IF* you can create and manage it yourself
3) WeDJ.com – A paid subscription service (roughly $240 per year) that sends leads your way
4)Respond.com, another referral service, pay-per-click @ $4.00 a pop.
